In every state we operate in, selling your surplus is fully permitted and works alongside net metering rather than replacing it.
Where we are live
We currently run in twelve grid regions covering California, Texas, New York, Arizona, Colorado and Florida, with more opening each quarter. The states index has the rules for each one.
How it fits with net metering
Net metering credits you for export at the utility’s rate. Selling on the market simply gives you a better buyer for the same kWh. Any block that does not sell on the market is credited under net metering as usual.
